At Silkwood, we have deliberately designed an innovative workplace culture around a high-performance and continual improvement approach to enable us to successfully deliver on our mission: "To create innovative, small learning communities led by Advisors, who use the world as their campus, to support Young People to develop personalised learning pathways".
Silkwood School has been working for a very long time with a focus on personalised learning. We have Advisors, rather than teachers, who guide student-driven, integrated, individual curriculum. All students have Personal Learning Time for student devised project work with real-world experiences, mentor programs and internships. Flexible Learning Spaces; Environmental, Indigenous and Entrepreneurial education programs; and assessment based on tracking students on personal learning journey; are also features of The Silkwood Way.
We are transformational. Continual innovation and the School’s specifically designed Improvement Process ensures that our school’s Strategic Plan cascades down through the organisation. We value the sharing of all voices in school improvement processes and have designed deliberate processes for ongoing collaboration and consultation in the school; with all staff, students and families actively involved. The outcome is a way of operating a school where empowerment and learning are at its heart.

This session is suitable for: K-12
