Limited Capacity filling up

In this session we will talk through the journey of “Innovation as a Classroom Subject” from the seed of an idea to its fruition as a subject and its ongoing evolution. It is a story of collaboration, of risk-taking and the idea that learning should not only challenge students and teachers but that there is room for fun and creativity amongst the school day. We base the course around design thinking and it is modelled on google genius hour. Students learn some basic skills in AR/VR, Sketchup and MCEdu. These skills are then used to create solutions to real-world problems. We currently do not assess this course in year 6/7 and are seeking to shift assessment paradigms for innovation as a tie-in to being disruptive and the future of innovation as a classroom subject.
